About Meetings
Meetings are added to the upcoming events section of this website frequently and hopefully in time more venues and more meeting times will be included.
Initially, it is felt that teaching two Five Element Flow Qigong sets (1 and 2), along with preliminary practises, each over four sessions, along with some additional practises such as healing sounds, best facilitates our goals in building community.
As core Qigong practises, if many people learn these, then practise sessions in the local parks, particularly Higginson’s Park by the Thames, can commence, and people can simply drop in and practise together, with little need for teaching presence. In addition lead Teacher sessions can occur to develop new sets and ensure good form is maintained.
As this develops this website could include a notice board area, or use other multi-media platforms, where people can post their intention to practise on a specific day, time or place and others can join them.
It too is hoped, as this grows locally, that regular practise sessions, same time, day and location can develop, much like in many Asian countries, especially China, where parks are often buzzing with groups practising.
It has been suggested for people to recognise other fellow practitioners that some means of identification could be worn. In winter orange woolly hats could be used, but a kung fu orange belt sash could be worn throughout the seasons for practise as people feel inclined to.
Qualified Qigong teachers, and also practitioners who have completed the two Five Element Qigong sets training could wear these in order to help and guide those newer to the practise and collectively would be a great means of identification thus increasing recognition and building awareness and a practise community.
All suggestions for suitable venues and locations are welcome, so please let know of any, particularly those with no cost, or a waived or reduced fee.
